Many of the drain pipes have either been been ripped off the wall or fallen into a state of delapidation several roof in the area have been badly damaged by poor drainage maintenance, one method of improvement has been the addition of an aluminium sheath over the bottom section. This looks equally unsightly - why not grow some prickly climbing type plants such as Roses or Pyracantha (see below) to improve the aesthetics at the same time.
