Syrian Tour

Although several of us wanted to visit Syria we were rather hesitant about doing this on our own so decided to go on a organised tour with explore (www.explore.co.uk) . The tour turned out to be great, it was very well organised with two guides (one native Syrian - Ghattis and also an English guide), the other people on the tour were interesting and we all got on well. If I have any criticism is the fact that there were 21 on the tour which was rather large, I'm not sure if you can check to see what the size of the group is before you sign up but it is an important consideration.
I had arranged with the explore company to delay my flight back for approximately two and a half weeks so that I could stay in Damascus on my own, this they happily agreed to, I ended up staying 29 days.
